The brief descriptions below are designed to familiarize you with our staff's training, professional credentials and work experience.

Dr. David Hakimi, D.M.D.

Dr. David Hakimi has been living in Southern California since his move from Toronto, Canada in 1988.  He attended Birmingham High School in the San Fernando Valley upon his arrival, where he met his close friend and current business partner Dr. Armon Eben.  After receiving his B.S. degree in Psychobiology from UCLA, he went on to study Dentistry at Tufts School of Dental Medicine in Boston, MA where he received his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry.

Since having graduated, Dr. Hakimi has augmented his education through hundreds of hours of continuing education courses in general, cosmetic and implant dentistry in order to provide his patients with the highest quality and most state-of-the-art treatment available.

Dr. Hakimi prides himself on his commitment to providing quality dentistry in a sensitive and gentle manner.  Furthermore, he believes that by listening to his patients’ goals, he can provide each patient with a smile that is not only beautiful, but also representative of their desires and personality.

Dr. Armon Eben, D.D.S.

Originally from Israel, Dr. Eben came to the US during his high school years where he attended Birmingham High School in the San Fernando Valley.  It is during this time in high school that he developed a passion for the dental field while working as a dental assistant.  Dr. Eben received his Bachelor of Science degree in Biochemistry from UCLA, and then continued at the UCLA School of Dentistry where he received his doctorate degree.

Having inherited Dr. Scott Rosen’s patients upon his retirement in 2004 along with his business partner, Dr. David Hakimi, Dr. Eben has continued the tradition of excellence in the practice that has been serving the people of Westlake Village and the surroundings since 1990.  Dr. Eben provides his patients with the highest quality of dental treatment with a gentle, personal touch utilizing his extended training in multiple areas of dentistry, including esthetics, implants and Invisalign orthodontics.

Beth Head

Beth has dedicated her 25 year career to the dental field. Her extensive knowledge of dentistry can be relied upon to bring clarity to any questions or concerns ranging from treatment to finances. Her tremendous energy, passion, loyalty and professionalism can easily be seen in her day-today interactions with patients and co-workers alike. Beth is always ready to greet you with a smile and to make you feel at home.

Beth enjoys spending time with her husband of 20 years and close friends. Her interests vary from watching drag races to wandering through museums. But she is happiest visiting the tropical paradise of Hawaii.



Jasmine De Boer



Jasmine recently moved from cold Colorado to the warmth of sunny California. She has traveled across the nation due to her father being in the Navy, and did most of her growing up in Florida. She always knew that she would end up back in California since it’s the place of her birth.

She will be continuing her college education to complete her prerequisites for dental school, and hopes to attend UCLA in the near future. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her fiancée and friends and her playful Pomeranian.

Carol Peterson

Carol joined our front office as the coordinator for the hygiene department in 2008. Born in Green Bay WI (Go Packers!) she grew up in Escanaba, located in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. Graduating from college with a degree in Fashion Merchandising and Management she started her career as an assistant buyer for Gimbels Midwest in Milwaukee, WI. Upon moving to Minneapolis she changed venues from the fashion world to the grocery industry where she first worked in corporate accounting and later the store setting as a store supervisor. In 2000 she moved to Dallas where she began her new career in the dental field as an office manager. Providing excellent customer service has been her first priority in the workforce and she enjoys her interaction with patients and the insurance companies to assist patients in utilizing their insurance benefits to fit their needs.

Carol and her husband Ken have 2 children.  Their daughter Kirsten and her husband Josh live in Denver, while their son Erik lives in Minneapolis. After 33 years of marriage and 9 moves (mostly to cold cities) Carol and Ken live in Simi Valley with their Bichon, Sammy. In her spare time Carol enjoys golf, traveling, and working out with GoFitGo Fitness Academy in Simi Valley.

 

Sazha Maldonado

Sazha was born and raised in Simi Valley, California.
Growing up she always knew that she wanted to work in the health care profession.  While being home-schooled her last two years of high school, she also enrolled in a dental assisting program where she learned about the fascinating world of Dentistry.  Though she enjoys working as a dental assistant, Sazha particularly enjoys working on the administrative side, and in helping patients receive excellent treatment, while helping to answer any questions or concerns they may have.

Sazha has two children.  One a daughter named Alexys Arianna who was born in 2006, and a son named Joe Louis III born in 2007.  Sazha is very family oriented and enjoys spending her free time with her children, family and friends. 

 

Hygienists

Karla Sparks, RDH

Originating from Texas, Karla moved to the sunshine of Southern California two years ago.  She is a graduate of the dental hygiene program at TCC, located in Hurst, Texas.  The combination of her acquired experiences and education have made her well versed in all areas related to dentistry and soft-tissue management.  Karla’s motto, “If you make a patient feel that you care for them as a whole as much as you do their mouth, then you have done your job well”.  Karla is happiest when she gets to spend time with her daughter, husband and two Jack Russels.

April Larsen, RDH

April was born and raised in beautiful, sunny California. Her career in dentistry started as a Registered Dental Assistant for seven years. She then went on to further her career and became a graduate of the dental hygiene program at Oxnard College. It was here that she received extensive training in the treatment and prevention of periodontal disease and soft tissue management.
April’s philosophy of practice is to “always hold the patient in the highest regard with compassion and optimal care”. Her other passions include spending quality time with her three sons and her husband, doing volunteer work at a dental clinic and devoting time to her church.

 

Assistants

Amy Ortega

Amy has been a Registered Dental Assistant for the past 6 years, and takes great pride in being both caring and knowledgeable.  Her love for the dental profession has lead her to start her pursuit to become a dental hygienist.  In her spare time, Amy loves to play soccer and spend time with her family and friends.

Lilia Ucan

Lilia has served as a Registered Dental Assistant at Westlake Smile Design for the past 2 years, and has become an integral part of the team.  Lilia loves to put patients at ease with her charming demeanor and her infectious smile.  In her free time she enjoys the outdoors and is a devoted Dodgers fan.

Adriana Preciado

Adriana was born in Ventura, California. She lived in Las Vegas, Nevada for close to 20 years and has since relocated back to her roots here in Southern California. She has resided here since 2002 and has been assisting in the dental field since 2004. However, she has assisted specifically in hygiene since 2007 at Westlake Smile Design and absolutely loves educating patients with her exceptional oral hygiene knowledge.

In her free time you can find Adriana either fishing, having a backyard BBQ with friends and family, watching football, basketball, or baseball. She also enjoys simply spending time with her boyfriend Sean of 6 years and her 2 year old German Shepherd named Grizzly.
